A presenter for GB News, Patrick Christys took to Twitter and while congratulating the country he also added that India should return the foreign aid they received from Britain during the span of 2016 and 2021. The British news presenter said,

The figure of £2.3 billion quoted by the anchor is from a report by the Independent Commission for Aid Impact. It is the watchdog that monitors UK aid spending. A report said,

His cryptic comments on India enraged the Indian citizens and netizens slammed the British anchor by demanding the Kohinoor back and the estimated amount of money taken out of India during the British colonial rule

Netizens criticized the British anchor who asked India to return the £2.3 billion provided by Britain as foreign aid between 2016 and 2021 as Indian Twitter users did not take it well.
